Watch live game action this Saturday from your laptop

I just got a bit of good news from the higher-ups here at NBC Sports. While many of you have followed the game action with me during our epic live-blog sessions, a common question from the peanut gallery has been, “Where can we watch the game online?”

For the first time ever, I’m able to say... here!

Here’s the official news:

For the first time this season, Notre Dame fans will also be able to follow the action live online this Saturday. NBCSports.com will be streaming a unique, bonus camera feed for the duration of Saturday’s game vs. USC (3:30 p.m. ET) marking the first time this season fans can also get an online-only complementary video experience to the broadcast of the game on NBC.
This is in addition to the digital experiences that have already been available all season, including live-streaming of the games on iPhones and live postgame webcasts, which originate from Notre Dame Stadium and include live coverage of coach Charlie Weis’ postgame press conference.”

This should be a pretty cool experience for those who like to get as many media platforms going as possible. You can watch the game on your TV, stream it live at NBC Sports.com, and follow along during the live-blog as I type furiously from the press box at Notre Dame stadium.

After talking about this with our production team, I’m convinced this will be a great supplement to the TV coverage, and if you’re stuck with no TV and only an internet feed, a pretty decent way to follow the game. Just to be clear, you won’t have all the bells and whistles of a standard NBC telecast, but you’ll get the broadcast audio feed with Tom Hammond and Pat Haden, as well as a cool camera view for the entire game.

(Better yet, you can’t beat the price.)

For those of you looking for a simulcast of the game, you can find that in the App Store for your iPhone, but if you’re like the rest of us that are iPhone-less, this should give you another way to follow the epic matchup this Saturday with the Trojans.
