True - almost avery "elite" team plays at least 7 home games. Gets harder to schedule - because most elite schools are tied into conference home and aways, and won't shedule a team like Notre Dame without a home and away (because they have no away slots available). ND deserves to have 7 home games just as well as the rest of them - . Now, on Notre Dame's behalf - they have never stooped to playing a team from lower division (Note: SEC feasts on these to bolster a guaranteed bowl qualifier (Florida's schedule with Charlseton Sou., Troy, and Florida Int., is pathetic; Texas's strength of schedule is probably worst among BCS qualifying teams - Mich.: Deleware State? Ranked around 200 out of 240 teams in all divisions. ND's lighter schedule is ranked by Sagarin is 13th toughest out of 240 schools! This, after taking so much crap for supposedly playing a watered down schedule. Only Notre Dame, USC, Washington, and Washington State have never scheduled a game with a cupcake from a lower division - EVER. As a side note: When all things are rebalanced in the universe, and they soon will be: We will win again! We will dominate again! Because? WE ARE ND... and you're not!!!!

Gee, great insight there, kejji. About that "advantage nobody else gets", and apparently "that teams stuck in a conference don't get", I guess Michigan playing 8 games at home in Ann Arbor this year, and 7 next year doesn't count. I must have missed the story where UM dropped out of the Big Ten.

keiji,
Take a good hard look at the schedules of all BCS conference schools. You are typically going to see at least 7 homes games, and in some cases (I know Michigan is one of those cases) 8 home games. This is not "an advantage nobody else gets". It's actually pretty standard. Do at least a bare minimum of homework prior to spouting off and sounding stupid while doing it.

This will be the third straight game the Irish have the advantage of playing at home.
Why is it the domers get to play 7 games games at home and only 5 games on the road?...with one of those away games being in a neutral site, with no advantage to the opposing team?
So the Irish have to play only 4 games in hostile territory?
Everbody knows playing at home is a big advantage, likened to an extra three points to the home team.
Sounds like N.D. gets an advantage and a pretty sweet deal and an advantage nobody else gets.
I guess being an independent has perks that teams stuck in a conference don't get.
