I see Pitt as the only game left that might casue some gray hairs to keep growing on Charlie's head. If Floyd wouldn't have been hurt I don't think ND would have 2 loses right know. Floyd wouldn't have dropped the pass to keep the ball at Michigan, and SC couldn't cover tate, much less the dynamic duo. As long as the offense is clicking on all cylinders, can you say BCS?????

1. having watched dayne"moose" crist get injured so severely( a back injury), during a game at notre dame high school in sherman oaks,ca, that his doctors told moose and his parents that moose would never be able to play football again and watching moose back at qb the next season better and stronger than ever, i think that we can all be very confident that moose will be back, as mike floyd already is, much earlier than predicted.
2. goodman has had many more reps at qb than most people will ever know until they see him pass.
3. evan sharpley knows the system even better than jimmy and with a solid oline and this deep a corps of receivers and tes, sharpley will be sharp as a razor when needed.
4. nate montana did spent the fall semester at pasadena city college, but got no meaningful playing time. nate will be back at notre dame sooner than anyone can imagine. we are informed that nate already is registered for spring semester classes at notre dame.
5. there will be no easy games, but things are looking very good for notre dame for 2009 and the forseeable future.
GO IRISH!!!

Do we have any idea of whether this will entitle Crist to an additional year of eligibility? And how definite is the 4 to 6 month estimate? Is it accurate that he will miss Spring practice next year?

Holy Sweet and Sour! Floyd being back, translates to me as we will win out the rest of the season.
Pitt really is the big hurdle, Pitt allowed 248yds to the Frosh at Rutgers, Russell at NC State burned Pitt for 322 and 4 TDs, hell some kid at Buffalo put up 400yds against Pitts secondary. They have given up some big chunks of yards on pass plays and having Michael Floyd puts us over the top in the passing game. While I understand that Pittsburgh mostly functions out of a run offense, the fact that Dion Lewis is a dash-back, means they won't rely on a slow time-sucking running game.
As to Crist, March would be his earliest return with May at the latest? That means he might miss spring practice and the Blue and Gold game...Ouch. ::paging Nate Montana, paging Nate Montana::
