A coach needs to build his own group with members that are loyal to him. The last thing you need or want to hear is “we didn’t do it that way under coach so and so.”
I had a supervisor tell me many years ago upon gaining my first important job, “Your not indispensable. Put your hand in a bucket of water, then pull it out. That’s how long and how much you’ll be missed.”
