Catching up with… Golden Tate

Feb 12, 2010, 1:00 PM EDT

Golden Tate walked away from Notre Dame after one of the most electric seasons in Irish history. The Biletnikoff winner dazzled fans with nearly 1,500 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, to go along with electric touchdowns on the ground and as a punt returner. While the Irish’s late-season swoon cost Tate an invitation to the Heisman proceedings, Golden’s junior season capped a remarkable three-year career that started with a converted running back learning on the job how to play wide receiver, to becoming the most versatile offensive weapon in college football.

While he’s busy in Arizona preparing himself for the biggest job interview of his life, he was nice enough to trade emails with me and let us know what he’s been up to.

I hope you enjoy catching up with Golden Tate…

ITI: Last we saw, you were sitting next to Coach Weis and Jimmy Clausen announcing your decision to enter the draft. What have you been doing since then?

Golden Tate: Since then, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona to prepare myself for the events that I will have to do.

ITI: What kind of things are you focusing on in your training? What do you feel you need to improve on?

GT: I have really been focusing on the forty. I think that is the most important event for me to do well on. I have also been working on the other drills equally.

ITI: Do you have any goals for the NFL Draft? Do you plan on participating in all the tests at the combine?

GT: Only goal I have at this point is to impress the scouts with not only my athletic ability, but also my personality. Hopefully they will see the Golden Tate outside of football. Yes, I plan on participating in all the drills.

ITI: Have you had any interaction with your old teammates? What are they saying about the coaching change?

GT: I have had a few conversations and they all said it is really intense and they are all getting better.

ITI: How tough is it not playing baseball right now? Do you think about your professional prospects in baseball if you decided to focus on that sport instead?

GT: It’s not tough at all. I do miss being around the guys, but that’s about all. I think I made the right decision by entering the NFL draft.

ITI: How close are you to finishing school? Do you plan on coming back and getting your degree?

GT: I am 30 hours away from graduating. I juggled baseball, football, and school for 2.5 years and only have a year until I graduate. I plan on continuing school during my offseasons.

****

A special thanks to Golden for making time for me in the midst of a pretty crazy time for him. I wish him the best of luck and think some team is going to be very lucky to have him next year.

A total stud on the football field for ND, and I felt privileged to watch him on Saturdays, and I hope the best for him in the NFL. I’m sure his NFL career will be as magical as his collegiate one was.

  2. robertg - Feb 12, 2010 at 6:12 PM

    1. we also are deeply grateful to golden and to jimmy and the notre dame’s other student athletes, not only for what they have done on the football and athletic fields, but for the fine character examples that they provide for our children and grandchildren both at notre dame and in the nfl and in their personal and business lives after the nfl.
    2. we wish that golden and jimmy were going to be back at notre dame next season, but we do understand that the actions of certain elements within the current notre dame administration gave golden and jimmy no real options other than to leave notre dame early for the nfl, despite the deep love and affection that both golden and jimmy have for notre dame and always will.
    GO IRISH!!!

  3. joe from Dublin - Feb 13, 2010 at 9:13 AM

Golden Tate is in a great position. He is projected to go in the late first round so he will most likely go to a playoff bound team where he will excel. Kiper has him projected to go to the Jets which would be a perfect fit for them and him. It will be interesting to see a USC QB throwing to a ND WR. Wherever he goes, I expect him to win as this kid is something special.
    RobertG:
As far as his decision to go to the NFL early, it has nothing to do with the current administration. Tate and Clausen were going to the NFL early for the same reason every other top junior in the country is going into the draft. The uncertainty of the NFL’s negotiations with the players union next year is too big of a risk for any junior to go a full 4 years. Even if Weis came back, these two were leaving. Somehow in your delusional world, you have a view that Weis is Knute Rockne. Weis has even acknowledged that he is not head coaching material by his actions of going back to being a coordinator. If Weis really believed he was head coaching material, he would have pursued a head coaching job instead of going back to being a NFL coordinator. Have you even watched one single game over the last few years? On a positive note, I am glad to see you are down to 2 bullet points in your posts.

  4. GG - Feb 13, 2010 at 9:39 AM

Guess I’m old school. I figure you go to collage for 4 years you should graduate.Especially on scholarship.

  5. Joe from Dublin - Feb 13, 2010 at 10:57 AM

Bill Gates left Harvard early to start up Microsoft but nobody has an issue with that. Why should athletes be any different. What if Tate blows out his knee in his senior season? There is nothing wrong with his decision to go pro. I do like the fact that he is intent on completing his degree in the off season.

  6. patH72 - Feb 14, 2010 at 3:34 AM

Bill Gates had accepted an athletic scholarship at Harvard and made commitments to his teammates and coach? I didn’t know that.

  7. TBoneND - Feb 14, 2010 at 10:05 AM

If a scholorship athlete leaves early for a professional sport I contend they repay the university for the years of their scholorship. They will have the means to repay and the school will have the funds to partially pay for addtional scholorships.

  8. Jake - Feb 14, 2010 at 1:50 PM

The Gates Foundation has donated billions to education in the U.S. and other countries. Just one of a whole laundry list of donations includes 1.5 Billion (with a B) to scholarships for poor minority students.
I think he paid his scholarships back many times over.

  9. Keith Arnold - Feb 14, 2010 at 2:19 PM

For those of you that think athlete’s have an obligation to stay 4 years, you might consider that the obligation isn’t a two-way street. Scholarships are renewed each year, and while Notre Dame isn’t in the business of pulling a scholarship, many other schools are.
While it might make sense in a “garage logic” type of way to say kids should pay back their scholarship if they leave early, it just isn’t that simple. If a baseball player stays for his senior season, it costs him thousands of dollars. Mark Sanchez stayed four years at USC, but one was a redshirt. Should he have to pay back USC?
If you’re good enough to make the leap, wish the kid luck and say thanks for the three years.

  10. robertg - Feb 14, 2010 at 6:52 PM

    1. the early departures of both jimmy and golden for the nfl were both caused directly by the misconduct of certain elements in the notre dame administration and by the unforgiveable manners in which they treated charlie and his staff and their families and notre dame’s student athletes and their families and by the manners in which these same members of notre dame’s current administration allowed and actually encourtaged certain predators in the media and at certain so called notre dame fan sites to attack charlie and his staff and his family and notre dame’s student atheletes so viciously that jimmy and his girfriend were attacked by some thugs in the parking lot outside a restaurant in south bend when jimmy and his girlfriend went back to retrieve her purse which she had left behind after jimmy and some of his teammates had, along with jimmy’s parents, had had dinner earlier at that restaurant.
    2. this atmosphere of vicious hatred was deliberately allowed to exist and was encouraged by these dame current members of notre dame’s administration when they easily could have put an end to the whole disgraceful mess before it got started as notre dame’s former ad kevin white did during the 2007 season when charlie and his staff were bringing to notre dame notre dame 1st no 1 ranked recruiting class since the lou holtz era despite the disasterous results of the 2007 regular season which were caused by empty recruiting classes in the years before charlie and his staff arrived at notre dame.
    3. during the 2009 season, jimmy gave numerous public interviews in which he stated, over and over again, that, but for charlie and his staff and their families, jimmy would never have chosen notre dame.
    4. many other notre dame student athletes gave other clear warnings in press conferences and privately to those certain members of notre dame’s administration that the phony paper losses which still, for the time being, appear on notre dame’s 2009 record were not, in any way, the faults of charlie and his staff and that notre dame’s student athletes were extremely disturbed with the manners in which charlie and his staff and their families were being treated.
    5. because of current ncaa rules( which we will change before the 2011 season), neither charlie and his staff nor any member of notre dame’s 2009 team could come out publicly, as we have, and state that notre dame was being robbed of 6 wins by dishonest officials and that notre dame student athletes were being deliberately targeted for seasson ending injuries( te kyle being just one example during the navy game and jimmy being another during the michigan state game) by players from other teams who came into the game knowing that they would not even be penalized by the crooked conference officials.
    6. because one of my family residences is not far from the in and out burger locations which jimmy and golden and kyle frequented during the summer before the 2009 season while they were out visiting jimmy and practising, my children and i had some opportunities to speak with jimmy, and golden and kyle.
    7. before we hit those certain elements within notre dame with our civil lawsuits, we will be taking the depositions of jimmy, golden, kyle, and of quite a few other notre dame student athletes and the true facts will be a matter of public record.
    8. in the meantime, anyone who wants to ignore the facts and think that jimmy and golden would have left notre dame even if charlie and his staff and their familes and notre dame’s student athletes had been treated in an honest manner by those certain members of notre dame’s adminstration is obviously free to think whatever he or she wants.
    9. by the way, we will also be taking the depositions of the many student athletes from the 2009 and 2010 recruiting cycles who chose other schools instead of notre dame specifically because of the abominable manners in which charlie and his staff and their families and notre dame’s student athletes were treated by those certain members of notre dame’s administration.
    10. charlie and his staff brought in to notre dame during the 2008 recruiting cycle the nation’s no 1 recruiting class and, but for the abominable conduct of those certain members of notre dame’s administration, charlie and his staff would have brought in to notre dame no 1 ranked recruiting classes during the 2009 and 2010 recruiting classes.
    11. recruiting classes like those, combined with cleaning the corruption out of officiating, rules enforcement, rankings, and bcs systems were the only things standing in the way of notre dame being in the national championship hunt every single season.
    12. instead of assisting in these areas, these elements in notre dame administration chose, for their own personal financial and ego gains, to stab in the backs charlie and his staff and their families, notre dame’s student athletes and their families, notre dame football, and the university of notre dame.
    13. of course, they will each get their chances in the civil courts, before honest judges and juries, to try to prove that we are wrong.
    14. however, as is always true with our national litigation projects, they are doomed to lose because the evidence against them is overwhelming.
    15. for the good of notre dame and for their own goods, they should resign and leave notre dame before the civil actions begin.
    16. however, having dealt with purcell before in the civil courts when we succeeded in forcing him out as the ceo of morgan stanley, purcell and his flunkies are likely to cause even more damage for notre dame before we kick them all out of notre dame and bring back charlie and most of his staff.
    GO IRISH!!!

  11. joe from Dublin - Feb 14, 2010 at 8:13 PM

RobertG are you Charlie Weis in disguise? The only thing that makes me think no is that you seem very defensive and defense is something that Chalie seems to know nothing about.
    GO KELLY!!!!

  12. robertg - Feb 14, 2010 at 9:56 PM

    1. no, neither i nor we are charlie in disguise.
    2. we have heard rumours that charlie is the reincarnation, in some respects, of the I can’t get no respect( even though charlie and his staff have certainly earned that respect from any real notre dame fan who has bothered to gather any real evidence, as we have) aspects of the late rodney dangerfield.
    3. in fact, although my family and i have watched every press conference that charlie gave ever since he arrived at notre dame and although the information that i heard and saw from charlie in the press conference after the 2006 notre dame/michigan game did give me the clues i needed to start understanding the crooked officiating industry, i have met charlie in person on only a few occasions, including before the theft of notre dame’s win over usc in 2005 by a crew of crooked pac 10 officials and before and after notre dame’s win over ucla during the 2007 season when, despite the savage attacks on charlie and his staff and their families and notre dame’s student athletes by the vicious media, including the south bend tribune and the so called notre dame fan sites, there were more loyal notre dame fans, including several hundred members of my own family from around the world, at the rose bowl cheering on notre dame than there were ucla fans cheering on a ranked ucla team.
    4. given the disasterous nature of the 2007 season and the vicious media attacks by people fraudulently claiming to be speaking on behalf of notre dame’s fans, charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes were visibly stunned by the huge crowd of real notre dame fans who showed up at the rose bowl to cheer them on and that support certainly played a key role in notre dame’s winning that game in 2007.
    5. when it was announced at the rose bowl during that notre dame/ucla game that stanford had pulled the big upset at the mausoleum, the notre dame/ucla game stopped and the notre dame and ucla fans let out a big cheer and hugged one another.
    6. aside from the feedback which charlie and his staff get from our posts from charlie jr and from notre dame alums, including quite a few former and current notre dame student athletes who excelled as student athletes also playing football at notre dame, in the nfl, and in their personal and business lives after notre dame and/or the nfl, neither we nor i have any idea what charlie and his staff think of what we are doing or even know who we are.
    7. being very practical and very skilled professionals, charlie and his staff are dedicating themselves to their current jobs for the time being, which we think is just great for notre dame’s future.
    8. there is an ancient greek saying and empirically proven truth- know yourself- which i would put in the classical greek if this keyboard contained thje greek alphabet.
    9. that truth has certain offshoots- know what you know and know what you do not know.
    10. your statements about the levels of knowledge of college football defense of charlie and his staff are based on the completely incorrect assumptions that the officiating has been honest and that the ncaa rules have been enforced so that notre dame’s real student athletes were not facing full time football players with zero academic obligations and crooked officials in every single game in the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
    11. we are not being defensive at all. we are simply stating the true facts.
    12. charlie is fully aware that he is not a defensive genius. that is why he brought in the best assistants available on defense.
    13. where is corwin brown right now? he is coaching for the new england patriots who are not known for hiring screwups.
    14. where is charlie’s dline coach? he is coaching at stanford right now.
    15. where is charlie’s dline coach and unbeatable recruiter in waiting, notre dame’s and the san francisco 49ers own bryant young?
    16. having turned down kelly’s offer to stay at notre dame( bryant young does not trust kelly and his staff any more than we do and bryant young and ron powlus and charlie certainly love and understand notre dame football and the university of notre dame) and disgusted with the conduct of those certain individuals in the notre dame administration, bryant young is currently coaching the d line at san jose state.
    17. what kind of histories do kelly and his staff have at defense and offense? they actually won national championships at gvsu, which is worth bupkis at the notre dame level.
    18. they won a mac title at central michigan which is also worth bupkis at the notre dame level.
    19. with all of the groundwork done by the prior coaching staff and with a lot of outcome altering assistance from crooked officials, they won 2 big least titles in a row at cincinnati and proceeded to get humiliated on offense and defense in 2 bcs bowl games, with the sugar bowl defeat really exposing both kelly’s offense and defense.
    20. tim tebow, the florida qb who cannot throw a pass to save his life had a career day against hopeless cincinnati.
    21. look at the cincinnati boxscores for the past 2 years? the defense has been horrible with no signs of improvement.
    22. in addition, look at the educational backgrounds of kelly and his staff. not one of them has the slightest clue about how to deal with notre dame’s real student athletes.
    23. while kelly and his staff were flying under the ncaa radar, they regularly ignored and violated the ncaa rules on the time that coaches can spend with student athletes, both during the offseason and during the regular season.
    24. being clueless about notre dame and running a high profile football program, kelly and his staff will try the same tricks at notre dame, including the infamous camp kellys and stealing extra time from notre dame’s real student athletes which should be devoted to academics.
    25. with the exceptions of cleaning the corruption out of the current college football officiating, rules enforcement, rankings, and bcs systems, charlie and his staff had recreated a dead nationwide notre dame recruiting network and a staff with nfl respect and player development at every single position.
    26. kelly and his staff and the jerks who illegally fired charlie and his staff and illegally hired kelly and his staff have nothing to offer notre dame, except the same type of disaters which purcell nearly succeeded in bringing down on morgan stanley before we drove him out as the ceo with civil litigation and then purcell and his flunkies showed up at notre dame.
    27. anyone who wants to find out about purcell need only input the words phil purcell morgan stanley into his or her search engine and follow up on the footnotes which refers to real civil litigation in real courts, not to some outfit illegally calling itself the california state bar court.
    28. naturally, we are subject to the same rules as every other poster.
    30. if anything that we state as a fact is not true, then the individuals named can and should sue us in the civil courts.
    31. for several years before we succeeded in forcing pete carroll and his staff to flee usc for the nfl, we posted comments about the crooked usc football program and invited petey and mikey and others to sue us if what we posted was not true.
    32. neither petey nor mikey nor anyone else associated with usc’s crooked football program has dared to sue us because they know that we have the evidence and that, if they start any civil litigations, we get to take their depositions under oath and we get an open door to discovery of documents and other evidence.
    33. we know that petey and mikey know where to find me and who i am since, in addition to posting facts about them, i told them thner same facts to their faces in person.
    34. it may take a while. however, once we are done, all real notre dame fans will finally realize that what we have been and continue to do are definitely the correct things to be done for notre dame football and for the university of notre dame.
    35. in the meantime, as long as he or she does not cross that clear line of civilly actionable statements, anyone is welcome to disagree with us vehemently in any post they want.
    36. however, some backup facts, instead of the fraudulent mudslinging, just might give rise to some civilized and productive discussions about notre dame football and its future.
    37. we have accumulated a lot of evidence which we have not yet posted, but would be happy to in the context of civilized discussions with real notre dame fans, not with people fronting for those elements at notre dame which have been using the canning coaches process for their own personal profits, and to the detriment of notre dame football and notre dame, ever since the last few years of the holtz era.
    GO IRISH!!!

  13. pj mcgee - Feb 15, 2010 at 12:49 AM

robert g you are a phsycopath….every board you go on people think you are off your rocker…was the 07` team, robbed of all those “should be wins” by the officials. They werent even competitive! You are a disgrace to nd fans. please go crawl in a hole and never come out…LOSER

  14. grandpashyena - Feb 15, 2010 at 8:31 AM

robertg, why are you so personally down on Kelly. You act like he was the person who fired CW. Would you be so fired up if another person had been hired by ND, someone you admire? Or is this just mindless flayling around in a tantrum of your perception that CW got a raw deal. If Kelly is the wrong man, it will show quickly. Ease up, concentrate on the problems at SC and all the fun you can have with that. If it is personal tell us why. What did Kelly do to you? Go back to dealing with the California Bar, if their finding are untrue, sue them to purge the web site, bust the corrupt officiating, blow the cover off other corruption but leave ND alone. It’s what we have and need to make the best of for now. Heck, you may even be surprised with a positive result. ND has broad shoulders. It will be fine. There will be exciting football in the fall. The slate will be clean and the opportunities fresh.
    Go Irish!!

  15. joe from Dublin - Feb 15, 2010 at 9:54 AM

Weis’s mentor Bill Parcells summed it up best. He always stated that “you are what your win/loss record says you are”. It is actually something that Weis has stated over and over which is why in the end, Weis did not even object to the fact that a change was needed. Charlie was 34 and 27. As Charlie stated at his opening conference about Willingham with a similar record – “That is not good enough at ND”. Kelly on the other hand is 171 and 57 (.748 winning percentage). He is what his record is and that is a winner everywhere he has been. You can not deny the facts so please stop posting your ridiculous conspiracy theories. This is the year that we finally beat your beloved Trojans. Your boy Kiffin is a fraud and is going to take down your program. It is going to fun to watch it all start to crumble in 4 days.

  16. robertg - Feb 15, 2010 at 7:32 PM

    1. we just print out the material which crosses the civilly actionable line to be dealt with later in the civil courts and we do provide responses and facts and links for the honest questions.
    2. no, we do not think that kelly and his staff were involved in the illegal firings of charlie and his staff and the unforgiveable manners in which charlie and his staff and their families and notre dame’s student athletes were stabbed in the backs by purcell, swarbrick, and jenkins and by certain vicious media shills who created a culture of vicious hatred at notre dame for reasons which had absolutely nothing with the performances of charlie and his staff as coaches and as recruiters or with the performances of notre dame’s student athletes on the football field.
    3. these people engaged in the conduct which they did and have done with prior notre dame football coaches for their own personal financial gains, in full knowledge that what they were doing was to the severe detriment of notre dame football and the university of notre dame.
    4. when swarbrick gave a speech at und.com to announce that kelly had been hired and, for the 1st time,by mistake, disclosed that purcell had been calling the shots all along, swarbrick looked right into the cameras and lied by stating that kelly was his 1st choice all along and the only person to whom swarbrick had offered the job( we printed out the transcript of the speech and downloaded the video from und.com for use as evidence).
    5. in truth and in fact, through an executive search firm, swarbrick had offerred the job to numerous other excellent coaches at high profile and successful college programs and had been turned down because those coaches knew what excellent jobs charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes had done in 2008 and 2009 and that notre dame had been cheated out of many wins by crooked officiating and the failure to enforce ncaa rules.
    6. none of these coaches at these prominent and successful programs were willing to trust swarbrick, purcell, and jenkins based upon their past histories.
    7. in addition, none of these coaches were willing to put themselves and their staffs and their families in the lines of the vicious attack industries which have been run by the south bend tribune and by so called notre dame fan sites which have been diverting millions every year since the last few years of the holtz era into their own pockets, millions which should be going to the university of notre dame as donations, not to finance the opulent life styles of these con artists.
    8. in truth and in fact, kelly was the last choice on swarbrick’s list of preferred candidates for the notre dame coaching job and a total disater for notre dame football and for the university of notre dame for the reasons and based on the facts set forth in paragraph 1 through 26 of our 37 paragraph post which appears just above this post.
    9. all of these facts and data are verifiable online, as are all of the things that charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes were doing so well for notre dame football and for the university of notre dame, except for those people who will keep insisting that the officiating was honest and that the ncaa was actually enforcing its own rules.
    10. for these reasons and many others, we will make certain that the cancers are driven out of notre dame and that charlie and his staff are back at notre dame well before the 2011 season begins.
    11. notre dame football and ther university of notre dame have a special role to fulfill in this world, a portion of which is playing football and other sports with honesty and integrity and by the rules, no matter how badly notre dame’s opponents are cheating.
    12. fortunately, we have already forced petey and his staff to flee usc for the nfl, something that we said we would do right here at notre dame central, only to be met with hatred, scorn, and derision from sot and his friends and we are cleaning the corruption out of college football officiating, rules enforcement, rankings, and the bcs systems at the ncaa, conference, and individual school levels to make the world safe for the honest coaches like charlie and his staff and for notre dame’s fine and genuine student athletes.
    13. remember that charlie came to notre dame from the nfl where the officials are required to apply the same rules in the same way in every game or they do get canned by the nfl.
    14. true, charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes were not expecting the type of totally crooked officiating and rules enforcement that have become the norms in college football and charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes set their goals very high based on the expectations that the officiating and rules enforcement would be honest.
    15. when those assumptions turned out to be wrong, charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes should have gotten the full backing and support of notre dame’s administration and notre dame’s fans in cleaning the corruption out of those systems and replacing them with 21st century high tech honest and transparent systems, fully accountable to the public.
    16. as far as we can tell, we are the only notre dame fans who have stepped up to provide that assistance.
    17. perhaps we are able to supply those services for notre dame and for college football and sports as a result of our extensive and extremely successful experiences with complex civil national litigation projects and because we have the financial and other resources all over the us to take on and finish this project.
    18. given the levels of corruption that have infected college football, rules enforcement, rankings, and bcs systems on a nationwide basis, the current paper records for notre dame football in 2008 and 2009 are completely meaningless, just as are the outcomes of court cases in which crooked judges are involved.
    19. we have dealt with and fixed very serious problems with dishonest judges and corruption in legal systems in california and all over the us, with the net result being that us citizens are actually getting access to genuine justice in our court systems.
    20. on the criminal law side, out national innocence projects are getting wrongly convicted innocent people out of jails all over the us and cleaning out the crooked prosecutors who routinely fabricated evidence and encouraged perjury just to pad their conviction stats. we also remove from the bench any judge who allows such activities to go on in his or her courtroom.
    21. the net results of our nationwide innocence and judicial integrity projects, which are all at stages now at which they run themselves and do not require very much personal attention from us, are better lives for honest us citizens everywhere.
    22. if charlie and his staff and their familes and notre dame’s student athletes were not persons of such high character and integrity who truly understand and love notre dame, they would have left notre dame for the cushy jobs, which they now each have in the nfl or at the college level, when the vicious hate industry which has infected notre dame football since the last few years of the holtz admininistration 1st started launching those viciouis attacks on them and their families during the 2006 season.
    23. we know what charlie and his family have been put through.
    24. we also know that charlie made promises to certain key notre dame alums who stepped up to save notre dame football in 2005- that he would bring back notre dame football with honesty and integrity and without compromising notre dame’s hich academic and character standards.
    25. but for the crooked officiating and rules enforcement, charlie and his staff did exactly what they promised to do and they are not the types of persons who leave tasks unfinished if given fair opportunities.
    26. we look at the histories of kelly and his staff and we see zero evidence of any understanding or love of notre dame football or of the university of notre dame. we find plenty of evidence of outright dishonesty and complete voids of any experience of running a college football program at the notre dame level.
    27. that is why kelly and his staff and the cancers within notre dame whom we have mentioned by name will not be at notre dame for the 2011 season.
    28. yes, notre dame football and the university of notre dame do have these problems that we will clean up if no one else does.
    29. however, compared to the problems at crooked programs such as usc and at many other schools and at the ncaa and conference levels, notre dame’s problems are relatively minor and east to fix.
    30. for those reasons, we will clean up the crooked programs and the corruption at the ncaa and national levels 1st and then we will deal with the cancers at notre dame before they can do any more damage.
    31. those of you who seem to like those cancers in the current notre dame administration and kelly and his staff will have one full season to experience the real horrors of kelly and his staff trying to run notre dame’s football program and trying to cheat.
    32. in addition to stating that we3 would force petey and his staff to flee usc for the nfl, we have stated that we would make certain that the current phony paper win/loss records of notre dame football for the 2008 and 2009 and prior seasons were officially corrected.
    33. you can all watch to 1st step in that process occur when the ncaa publicly announces its sanctions against the crooked usc football program on 2/21/2010 or soon after if usc tries to appeal.
    35. every current paper loss of notre dame to usc back to the 2005 bush push game will be officially converted into forfeit wins by notre dame, thereby officially making charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes undefeated against usc.
    36. if the ncaa tries to wimp out on those usc sanctions, we will force the ncaa to take those actions in the civil courts.
    37. the reversals of the other phony losses will soon follow and you will all be able to see that charlie and his staff and notre dame’s student athletes more than met their goals that they set when they arrived at notre dame. they actually did much better.
    38. there are places for people like kelly and his staff of refugees from gvsu, but notre dame is certainly not one of those places.
    GO IRISH!!!

Here is, in its entirety, paragraph #1 of robertg’s post #10 above(for a Yale educated lawyer, you would think he might know something about run-on sentences and proper punctuation. Good God, Man, take a breath (or an Effexor). What has this dude so revved up again? Is it a full moon?):
    1. the early departures of both jimmy and golden for the nfl were both caused directly by the misconduct of certain elements in the notre dame administration and by the unforgiveable manners in which they treated charlie and his staff and their families and notre dame’s student athletes and their families and by the manners in which these same members of notre dame’s current administration allowed and actually encourtaged certain predators in the media and at certain so called notre dame fan sites to attack charlie and his staff and his family and notre dame’s student atheletes so viciously that jimmy and his girfriend were attacked by some thugs in the parking lot outside a restaurant in south bend when jimmy and his girlfriend went back to retrieve her purse which she had left behind after jimmy and some of his teammates had, along with jimmy’s parents, had had dinner earlier at that restaurant.

I bet if I stuck a tiny stick pin in R.G.’s belly button, all the hot air would deflate in a matter of seconds. Hopefully he’ll then return as Robert G-Whiz!, a guy with rational SHORT posts that we might actually want to finish reading. Come’on, Bobby G….play nice with us.

  19. joe from Dublin - Feb 15, 2010 at 10:44 PM

    RobertG:
nobody has a problem with your rants and raves as long as you knock them down to 3 to 4 bullets. 38 bullett points are not even being read. I respect a USC fan’s point of view due to the rivalry but not 38 bullet points. Go KELLY!!!

  20. robertg - Feb 16, 2010 at 12:52 AM

    1. i have made it very clear on many occasions that i do not proofread or spellcheck internet posts.
    2. we save things like that for court pleadings and briefs.
    3. in addition, we deal with facts and evidence, not with one or 2 sentence zingers which contain no facts or evidence.
    4. if anyone who disagrees with us has any real facts or evidence, as opposed to the usual baseless personal insults, then post away and at least attempt to put some factual and evidentiary substance in your posts.
    5. otherwise, we will have to conclude that you have no facts and evidence and that your abilities to post are limited to the brain dead and incredibly stupid personal insults that so many of these posts have been and continue to be.
    6. in the meantime, enjoy your one season of daymares and nightm, ares of kelly and his staff of complete amateurs trying and failing to run the notre dame football program.
    7. nothing that you post here or do in any civil court can possibly keep kelly or his staff or the cancers who illegally fired charlie and illegally hired kelly and his staff at notre dame beyond the 2010 season any more than the threats and insults from any usc boosters could prevent pete carroll and his staff from having to flee usc for the nfl.
    8. for anyone who wants to use petey’s usc football program as a model for notre dame’s football program, you can forget about anything like that ever happening.
    7. if you like crooked football and basketball and athletic programs, join sot and his friends, root for usc, and forget about notre dame.
    8. one of my roommates and very close friends at yale law school, and still a very close friend, was a maxima cum laude grauduate of notre dame and an extremely intelligent fellow.
    9. based on the available data, he was the 1st notre dame graduate ever to have both the college grades and lsat scores to qualify for admission to yale law school.
    10. like many of our good friends who are notre dame graduates, he agrees with us about charlie and his staff, about the cancers within notre dame, and about kelly and his staff.
    11. but for the fact that we decided, for political reasons, to exclude graduates of notre dame and of any school that plays bcs division football, he and many other notre dame graudates would be actively assisting us in our projects.
    12. right now, my yale law school roommate and many other good friends who are notre dame alums are ashamed of notre dame.
    13. if any of you posters actually graduated from notre dame, how many of you graduated maxima cum laude, which means no 1 in your classes at notre dame?
14.we already know that the answer to those questions- not one of the baseless insult throwers.
    GO IRISH!!!

    1. since some real notre dame fans may have missed some of our previous posts, we will provide one citation again to just one case.
    2. that case is a case which i personnaly briefed, argued and won all by myself by a unanimous vote of a 3 judge panel of the us court court of appeals for the ninth circuit.
    3. the decision is availabe to anyone who wants to print it out and read it from lexisnexis online for only $9.
    4. the citation is united energy owners committee et. al. and robert t. gilleran vs united states energy managements systems et. al. 837 F.2d 356; 1988 U. S. App. LEXIS 128; 10 Fed. R. Serv. 3d ( CALLAGHAN) 253( CA 9 1988, Judges Nelson, Hall, and Thompson)
    5. this is this groundbreaking decision which turned the civil rico statute from some dead words which had never successfuly used in any civil litigation into the deadly weapon that it is today. 6. sure, we have won made many more cases since then that have made the civil rico statute an even more deady weapon of economic mass destruction.
    7. in the future, while we will continue to print out all posts at nd central, we will respond in post form, only to those who have shown us some convincing evidence that they have actually read and understood this opinion, which contains many more than 36 numbered points and which decision was reached based on 2 very lengthy briefs written by me personally with detailed references to many thousands of pages of appendices.
    8. we are also not interested in getting involved in pointless internet discussions with posters fronting for kelly and his staff, for purcell, swarbrick, or jenkins, or for the south bend tribune or for any of the so called notre dame fan websites, who all have vested financial interests in the current corrupt systems within notre dame and who want to keep those millions in subscription fees coming in from naive notre dame fans all over the world who get conned into believing that these people actually know something about football and about notre dame football and purchase their alleged inside information, which certainly do merit our josef goebbels and pravda prizes for fraudulent propaganda.
    9. we are also not interested in getting involved in any pointless internet discussions with posters who have clearly demonstrated in their posts that they have attention spans of less than 5 minutes and iqs of less than 100.
    10. for anyone else who wants real information and facts from us with our usual detail and links to internet sources, just ask and we will respond to your questions.
    11. after all, we have a lot of work to do in real cases in the civil courts and have to limit our responses to real notre dame fans asking questions in good faith.
    12. we already know that the key people within notre dame have received our information and done their due diligencence since those people are supplying us with documents and other evidence from within notre dame.
    GO IRISH!!!

  22. Jennifer - Feb 16, 2010 at 1:01 PM

HEY! GUESS WHAT?!? I think this guy is a LAWYER!!!

  23. joe from Dublin - Feb 16, 2010 at 8:57 PM

and not a very good one at that from what I can tell by his responses.

  24. robertg - Feb 17, 2010 at 4:10 PM

    1. obviously, these 2 last posters have not bothered to read the decision of the us court of appeals for the 9th circuit for which i provided the citation right above their posts.
    2. if these posters had bothered read that decision, which costs them only $9 from lexisnexis online, they would have found out the the 3 judges on the panel from the ninth circuit court of appeals, who read the briefs which i wrote and presided over thge oral argument of that case, not only handed me a complete victory in that case, but went out of their ways in their opinion to point out what an excellent attorney i am.
    3. obviously, posters are entitled to their opinions, no matter how stupid and idiotic those opinions obviously are and the posters are obviously more qualified to evaluate my abilities as an attorney than 3 of the most prominent federal judges in the entire united states. unless the posters are connected with some of the elements which we are going to drive away from notre dame and punish economically in the civil courts, then they only punishment for these posts will be their disclosures that they are indeed brain dead.
    4. to the extent that these and other posters want more proof of how excellent and deadly for the opposition and for notre dame’s enemies we are, they will be seeing many more materials relating to our activities in cleaning the corruption out of college football and out of notre dame, in addition to the citations which we have already provided right here at notre dame central.
    5. obviously, pete carroll and his staff and their allies within usc’s crooked football program and athletic department did not think much of our abilities as attorneys.
    6. that is why they fled their empire at usc for the nfl months ago, because of our big court wins over the ncaa, for which we provided the online citations and online access links right here at
notre dame central months before petey and his staff actually did flee usc for the nfl.
    GO IRISH!!!

Lets all understand that Robert, or Bobby as he was called on other sites, has been posting the same rants, threats and accusations for years! They are all pretty much carbon copies of the same nonsense. Most other sites have given him the boot for threatening posters with legal action.
We are ND fans and many Alumni. We come here for intelligent comment and exchange on ND football. What we do not come here for is the same old numbered points that repeat the same garbage. He gets so carried away with his boasting of himself that he actually posted the following:
Om uhnd.com on 11/27/07 Robert stated in a bullet 6, and I quote:
“John Grishams “The Firm” being just one of them, based
on some of my real life experiences in the Cayman Islands.”
He also stated that he was forcing the SBT to sell to he and his cohorts or probably have that and a T.V. station given to him to avoid legal costs. Bullet 4 & 7 (Same ND site 11/26/07. He then went on to announce an auction of this company’s assets with “Genuine Certificates of exorcism from one or more of the priests at ND” “This to prevent the huge Amount of negative karma attached to these assets.”
I don’tknow about anyone else but trying to argue with an ego this big and an imagination even bigger is a waste of time and effort.
