I am from IN, South Bend in fact and have spent 40 years of Saturday’s watching ND football. Kelly will make winners out of these guys. And he’ll get results from his backups, especially after today. Ever see a Weiss defense go 3 and out more than once in a game let alone three full quarters? Yeah, they missed it at the end, hard to watch but this team didn’t quit. BK has this team tighter than any Weiss team in just two games. I miss Holtz, too but we’re on the way back. Give him a chance.
Hey, I was as excited about the Kelly hire as anyone. I haven’t given up on him yet. I can’t. Even if I wanted to, I would still remain loyal, hopeful. I’m just sayin’ that this loss smells like every loss from last year. I thought it was Weiss who couldn’t turn his players into winners; I thought losses like these wouldn’t happen, or at least not as frequently in the Kelly era, because of his track record to getting W’s instead of L’s in tight games. As Michigan got the ball back after the long touchdown pass, I immediately thought of last year’s game when the Irish just couldn’t get one more stop. Yes, they did an “all right” job (even though nearly 500 yards of offense for one players is hardly an all right job), but I knew that they were going to give it up in the end. This was a game they had to have. I can’t see them going to East Lansing and beating Michigan State on their home turf. They always have trouble with the Spartans. To be honest, I see the Irish having the exact same record at the end of this season as last season: 6-6. Swarbrick will elect to go to a bowl this time, and they’ll beat some over-matched opponent like Hawaii or Grambling State. Then, the faithful will say that next year will be “our year”. It’s the same stuff over and over again. I’m just looking for proof that this program can turn the corner and be excellent again, not just mediocre.
what the hell are you smoking dude? top ten? USC will beat your ass, stanford will clean you clock. I bet 4 losses easily for your team. top ten in like 2-3 years.
