Kudos to the Spartans…

…but the play should have never happened.

Both the playclock on the TV feed and the scoreboard were clearly at zero before the ball was snapped.

Either way, it’s the playcall of the year by Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio.

No. According to ESPN: “Big East officials worked the game, and the league on Sunday released a statement backing up the crew”.

I thought that MSU could not have home field advantage and a Big 10 crew…..too biased. We are supposed to travel with a Big East crew since all other ND sports are a part of the Big East. That is why the Big East media machine came out and explained the call (or no-call). I have to take solace in the fact that we went into MSU’s house and played them in to OT and they needed to resort to trickery to pull out the win. With a 51 yd attempt, the potential for a fake would have been obvious.

They got caught sleeping on defense, the Irish have had many calls go their way that cost the other team the game. They never should have been in that position in the first place. Over now, History, move on the the next game. Charlie in Texas.

  4. Irish? Sound Like scUM fans to me - Sep 20, 2010 at 8:08 AM

You guys are better than Michigan fans, so stop acting like them.

Well, I was right. ND came out of this game 1-2. Special teams coach blew this one. Who scouted the kicker for Mich St? A 47 yard
FG was not in the mix. They had to complete this play and they did.
My hat’s off the the Mich St coaching staff. We got out coached as always. With the schedule coming up I can see maybe a 6-6, that’s a
long shot. Kelly’s first year, will not be pretty.

Big east officials. Made the right call, even after review. No arguments from anyone that A) understands football rules, B)is not an ND fan C) is a football analyst, commentator and official.
regardless if you reject NCAA officiating rules and The Big East defending its refs, and you still think this is all an MSU conspiracy, keep in mind, that no player on the field for ND thought the clock expired and stopped playing. They got beat, Brian Kelly got beat, the ND football team got beat and their ill-positioned band got beat.
Any ND fan that continues to argue this point is putting themselves in the same situation by whining about this non-issue, they will get beat.

Just pay the players in the SEC, they don’t want an education. How many players arrested during URBAN(close your eyes to the problems) MEYERS time. Love the BS he gives. ND is the job I always wanted but wouldn’t take because the administration watches closely what players get scholarships.
Here are 4 real tough teams from the SEC Kentucky, Vandy, Mississippei, Mississippi State.
ND would be 4-0 against those powder puffs.

Wrong DR. The 46-yard field goal was in the mix, because Conroy had kicked a 50-yarder the previous week, albeit indoors at Ford Field. The 50-yard make set up the fake nicely.
