this is depressing period. the apathy has taken me too. but i do feel the need to stick up for the defense this week (not all year, just this week). they gave up the opening drive touchdown and then that was it. they gave up some 10+ and 15+ yarders but otherwise they looked alright. the rest of the team? well, we all know what happened.

this program is in big trouble. i am tired of the excuses. this crap that he needs his kind of players. they have a team stocked with blue chippers and they get beat….again, by a team that is not even close talent wise. for all the talent nd has, they have one of slowest defenses i have seen. the pass play in the endzone reminds me of another coach we had. I am sick and tired of losing, especially to teams they should stomp. i am glad i did not watch much. i said i wouldn’t watch after last weeks debacle. and yet i got suckered in again.

I agree that the last call was horrible, I even posted that in the next comment. What I don’t understand is why you waste so much time on a Notre Dame blog when you have never said anything positive about Notre Dame and clearly (from your comments) despise them. Seems like a really pointless exercise to me.

Your comment on approval ratings is spot on! Brian has officially found him self in a situation that he can’t talk himself out of. His comments about the teams play are disgusting! The defense is horrible and he’s yet to call out their play. I understand sticking up for the team and the players and coaches but I’m starting to wonder if he even know what the real issues really are.

I promised myself I would not visit any Notre Dame message boards this year. No NDNation, no UHND, none of that, because why I do need any heartache above and beyond the football team’s actual play? But I still find myself wondering occasionally just what it is they are all saying. Misery loves company, so I know that should I once take a peek it would take more will than I have to pull myself back out, so I’m going to honor my little self-imposed ban. But even without looking I know one thing … Kelly’s approval rating has to be just a hair above nil. I salute anyone who isn’t completely apathetic about the current state of the program or its future. You are a better man than I, hypothetical person of whose existence I am not certain.

By the way, Navy as a team has fewer rushing yards against 1-6 Duke today than Teich had by himself last week.

ND fired Charlie for this. Brain said the guys played their tails off. I’ve been the biggest Brian Kelly supporter since he’s been hired. We’ve had more talent than both Navy and Tulsa and he get get this team to win. This is coaching period!!!
