Also, I think McSorley’s has the distinction of being the oldest bar in continuous operation in NYC (even through Prohibition). It is one of the oldest bars in the U.S. but I think there’s one in Boston that has been around longer as well as Jean Laffitte’s in the French Quarter.

McSorley’s is a great place…the only selection is light or dark beer (not light as in Coors Light but light as in a lager type beer) and they give it to you two mugs at a time. I actually don’t remember much of my last visit there, that’s how good it is. Keith have a couple of hot dogs at Gray’s Papaya before you leave, they are the best. Maybe breakfast at Barney Greengrass on Amsterdam Ave. Also, try the soup dumplings at Joe’s Shanghai in Chinatown, they are life changing. I actually got to shake BK’s hand after the pep rally tonight, good times.
