waydomer,

You make an excellent point, and I do think that Christ, Rees, Hendrix, Massa and Montana are all talented; they've all developed in Coach Kelly's system! And furthermore, as you point out, Christ's and Rees' game time experience can't be ignored.

It's interesting to think that Golson, if he does enroll early, will be in a similar situation to the one Rees was in--and look how well Rees did in November!

The word you used--"develop"--is so accurate. We'll see how well and how quickly Golson develops.

Ultimately, I think that the competition will help all of our QBs, and make the starter better because of that competition!

James, I hope you are wrong about Golson being the starter in the first game. For if that were true, it means we are in for another long year. Not that I don't think Golson can develop into a good player, but if as a true freshman, he is beating out a senior, who started over half a year, a sophmore starter of 4 games, and a supposedly talented sopmore with a over a year in Kelly's system, it means that players aren't developing in the system, the way they should.

bodybaggame (such an asinine name),

This is a forum devoted to the game of football, but since you either can't control your impulse to disrupt—or you are simply incapable of making important distinctions, I'll address your “comment.”

Some irresponsible writers have been churning out emotionally charged, inaccurate opinions of both Declan Sulivan's and Lizzy Seeberg's tragic deaths. The key word for you to concentrate on, bodybaggame, is the word opinion. Here's a very important reason why:

“In 1997, an organization then administered by the Pew's Center for Excellence in Journalism (PEJ), the Committee of Concerned Journalists, began a national conversation among citizens and news people to identify and clarify the principles that underlie journalism. After four years of research, including 20 public forums around the country, a reading of journalism history, a national survey of journalists, and more, the group released a Statement of Shared Purpose that identified nine principles. These became the basis for The Elements of Journalism, the book by PEJ Director. . . CCJ Chairman and PEJ Senior Counselor. . ..” http://www.journalism.org/resources/principles.
You can read all nine principles at this link.

I'll include just the first principle; read this VERY CAREFULLY bodybaggame:

"JOURNALISM'S FIRST OBLIGATION IS TO THE TRUTH:
Democracy depends on citizens having reliable, accurate facts put in a meaningful context. Journalism does not pursue truth in an absolute or philosophical sense, but it can--and must--pursue it in a practical sense. This "journalistic truth" is a process that begins with the professional discipline of assembling and verifying facts. Then journalists try to convey a fair and reliable account of their meaning, valid for now, subject to further investigation. Journalists should be as transparent as possible about sources and methods so audiences can make their own assessment of the information. Even in a world of expanding voices, accuracy is the foundation upon which everything else is built--context, interpretation, comment, criticism, analysis and debate. The truth, over time, emerges from this forum. As citizens encounter an ever greater flow of data, they have more need--not less--for identifiable sources dedicated to verifying that information and putting it in context."

O.K. Back to football—I like Christs' attitude, Rees' poise, Hendrix's skills—but I think Golson will be the man. I know I've left Massa & Montana out—we'll see what happens; it should be fun!

Yeah, man! And, like, there is some bad stuff going on there, man! WE GET IT....You want some sort of police justice that ends with Brian Kelly and Jack Swarbrick and the whole damn Board of Trustees marched out of the administration building in chains. Off with their heads for cooperating with investigations....errr....not making public comments on private investigations...errr....and keeping things in house until all investigations are complete...err.

Crawl back under the rock from whence you came, slug.

In other news, keep up the good work, KA. I'm a big fan of Tommy Rees, but I think the real battle for the starting spot will be between Crist and Hendrix.
