More likely it would be Hendrix leaving if any of the QB’s. Hendrix stands to benefit the most at this point by leaving for Florida. [Benefit: eligibility, pro-style QB in a pro-style offense]

um…I’m not quite feeling the same love, guys. I sure don’t see Charlie (who was after-all, fired) waxing eloquent about ND, other then “mentioning” he was the one that recruited “the best.” And you can be sure he’ll get a lot of ESPN quote time as well. Hope I’m way off on this, though. Makes me jumpy to think about it….

I think this will be a great fit for Florida. Coach Weis has proven he can coach offensive talent to a very high level. The athletes they can get there at Florida and his offensive prowess is a great match. I appreciate the job Coach Weis did at Notre Dame. It didn’t end up in alot of wins but the talent upgrade he and his staff made was tremendous, as we have seen on the field this year for the Irish. He brought some major talent to ND and has to be given credit for his part in this new Irish resurgence. Nothing but the best to the big guy, unless he’s playing ND of course.. and we’ll only see that matchup in the BCS somewhere.

grantland, I almost hope your right. That would un-muddy the waters regarding the quarterback situation at South Bend, as I really don’t think Crist is the right fit for the spread.

I wish Weiss well. I really had no problem with how he ran the offense. His problems at South Bend seemed two-fold to me. Most importantly, he never understood that there’s that thing called defense that needed to be addressed which he never seemed to to. Secondly, he was pretty arrogant, as was Clausen, and that really doesn’t play well when you’re the head coach of a team that frankly, was pretty bad after Quinn left.

The worst thing he could do is to denegrate ND to potential recruits. It doesn’t show much character and would be easily countered and capitalized upon in the Irish’s recruitment of the same kids.

Does this mean that Dayne Crist will be transferring to Florida to finish his college career in a pro style offense with the coach who recruited him?
