Having said that don’t take a walk on the wild side, take a walk on the cautious side. I would much prefer Troy to live a long and healthy life, not one curtailed simply because others want him to play football.

I wish Troy, and for that matter all players, all the best and the best in health as they prepare for the season. Hopefully this Fall camp is free of the tragic events of not so long ago with players succumbing due to complications from illness and other factors !

Lots of players in the pros have a history of concussions, so it´s not the end. Nowadays we have to accept a fact: high performance sports are not synonym of health since long, long time. Look at the Olympics a month from now, you will see beautiful bodies, but unhealthy ones, because of a more than painful practices. But head injuries, including concussions, particularly in the game of Football, have become a subject of a deep concern. It is a sport of colision. When a football player suffers a concussion during a game or in practice, it´s a very serious thing. Again, I hope he plays hard and healthy for a longtime.

Troy has great promise as a player and as a person. But with all the news today about concussions, not to mention his own personal history, the fear is it could all go down the drain in a micro second.
