Playing a team week one that has beaten ND 3 of the last 5 games and in another country no less, after jet lag, then coming home to play Purdue is not easy especially after we thought ND would blow out usf last year. Remember what Lou Holtz said three years ago about Ohio State playing Navy week one? He thought it was bad scheduling and it’s really difficult to prepare all fall camp for those cut blocks and truly be ready out if the gate. Ohio State almost lost that game.

Go back and read my posts. I am hardly claiming to know more than BK; but I have seen enough of TR to know where the ceiling is. If we have to start TR in one more game barring injuries to the real starter, BK is not the coach we thought he was (hardly likely. He earned his reputation through consistent performance and success over a long period of time).

I am pretty confident that, regardless of what he is saying to the media, he knows who his QB is (someone not named Tommy) for the season and he will most certainly have that guy ready by the start of the season. Will he play lights out from game 1, we will have to wait and see…

Absolutely every one of the guys you list was a known NFL quality talent

You’re right that Tommy isn’t a fair comparison to any of the people on the list. But you’re comparing the people on that list today to Tommy today.

Compare the people on that list as sophomores to Tommy as a sophomore. NONE of them were first round picks or super bowl champs after their sophomore year….and the moment you throw a “5-star recruit” argument in, i just stop listening.

Love the DeBerg comparison, very accurate. Comparing stats not too compelling, because what were the situations/dynamics involved ? Those other guys were probably trying to win the game in the final minutes etc etc I would like to see the positive plays made by each QB listed and compared for impact and effect. Then compare and contrast, Rees wouldn’t stand a chance.

Amir will be dynamic and keep in mind, put something just as good in the mix and everybody gets better ! Cierre will take it to another level, the offensive line takes it up next thing you know..

All those converted players to the secondary, funny I think I remember something similar happening in Coach Kelly’s previous stops….worked out fairly well as I remember.
