So much for a boring Notre Dame pep rally

Sep 22, 2012, 11:48 AM EDT

The atmosphere at pep rallies the last few years hasn’t been the greatest. Outside of Rocket Ismail’s “Unbelief” speech before USC, it’s been tough to get too fired up for an event that’s designed to get everybody fired up.

Well last night changed that a bit. With an emotional Manti Te’o thanking the students for their support, Prince Shembo blaming Michigan for stealing his bike seat, and Troy Niklas ripping his shirt off before addressing the crowd, it was a pretty awesome performance all around. (I almost forgot Dickie V introducing the team!)

Check out the video from our friends at

I see now why Troy is called Hercules. There is “chiseled” and then there is Troy.
Just whacky enough to be one of my true team favorites.

I think Troy is a sign they lowered the academic admission standards.

Meant in jest I’m sure, but his brother is at USAFA.
Not a lot of dumbbells there, so there must be some decent gray matter DNA in him

      I hope

Well, if they best one of the top 4 teams in the 4th best conference, it should put notre dame back into prominnce, right? Lol…

i think the unbelief (“do not let him come in!”) speech was utah. his speech for the ’09 USC game was the “dont flinch”
