Live blog — Notre Dame vs. BYU

Oct 20, 2012, 2:57 PM EDT

TJ Jones AP

Another Saturday, another big game for the Fighting Irish. And as usual, we’ve got every angle of this game covered.

For those of you that want to chat during the game, see below for the live blog. Standard live-blog protocol applies, and as we’ve done the past few weeks, the guys at The Observer will be joining us, helping out while I work double-duty this afternoon.

Speaking of that, if you’re looking for another opportunity to chat, you can do that in NBC Sports’ HD video player. You can watch the game with full DVR capabilities, and you’ll also get the chance to watch the band’s halftime performance. The game is also available for your tablet or smart phone through the NBC Sports Live Extra app.

Plenty of options for watching and enjoying Notre Dame football. So stop on by the chat and watch the game with me and a few thousand other close friends.

    Just missed our second FG.

We’re far past shooting ourselves in the foot.
    This is terrible.

I wish we had a good quarterback. Instead of several alright ones.

I’m cringing again with Rees (do bad things just happen when he starts?), but despite a terrible first-half performance on both sides of the ball, we’re only a touchdown behind.

I wish we had a good game manager/ coach. BK can recruit and be the face of a program but his micromanagement of the play calls and qb’s is terrible. Same results as usual with Tommy at the helm. I have no idea how a QB with perhaps the least arm strength in all of college football could also be so inaccurate…mind boggling….golson seems ok signaling the plays in…Even if we somehow luck into a win today whats going to happen next week,,, on the road with no QB….

Its not a coincidence when it happens week after week…did you see last season…the team takes its lead from the QB….terrible performance we are getting served by a 4-3 independent team…nuff said

Where’s Keith? Consoling Tommy in the locker room?

Man this doesn’t look good. Was afraid we would have a let down this week. At least we have a lot of time still left in the game.

Seven gunners on Neal, by himself, on a punt return. Do we not have a special teams strategy for returning punts?

Obviously we now know Rees should be the starter as the offense not only played well today with him under center, but absolutely thrived. #justeffinkiddin

Only thing I can say, they pretty much played crappy across the board. But just went back to good old high school football, stuffed them on defense and just ran the ball right at them. That is a major difference from the past 5 years or so. They would’ve lost that game.

Better get it going next week.

    Go Irish

extremely happy were 7-0 LOVE the Irish!!!!!! on the realistic side, Mister bern, scoring a miserable 17 points on an unranked BYU team ( even though all our backs were great) isn’t the offensive explosion we’ll need to generate vs. Okla SC or any other top 10 team but, as one of her loyal sons I certainly hope we can do it!!!!!!!! GO IRISH!!!!!!
