Live blog — Notre Dame vs. USC

Everett Golson

LOS ANGELES — We are finally there. On an unseasonably warm November evening, the No. 1 Fighting Irish prepare to take on USC, battling their rivals for the right to head to Miami for the national championship game.

Stories like this one usually write themselves. But we’ll still be here keeping you up to speed with the live blog, joined by our friends at the Observer to keep you on top of things real time.

Will Notre Dame’s defense be too much for redshirt freshman Max Wittek to overcome? Can Everett Golson continue to lead the Irish offense to victories? Will Manti Te’o get his Heisman close-up against the Trojans after years of USC players using Notre Dame as a springboard? After the longest week in memory, we’ll finally find out.

Buckle up and enjoy. I’ll do my best to referee the proceedings, but let’s keep things clean and fun.

EA Sports predicted ND winning 24-17 with a Manti Te’o interception on the final play with USC at the ND 4. Obviously, EA Sports knows everything and the final score will be 24-17. HEISMANTI/MANTIESMAN/just give him the stupid trophy already!!
