As someone that had the opportunity to participate in this coaching staff’s very first Fantasy Camp, I can tell you that it’s an incredible experience. The Notre Dame staff roles out the red carpet for both campers and returning alums, making the short week one of the best experiences you could ever hope for if you’re a die hard Irish fan.
Sure, it’s a big ticket item. But you’re walking away with more than just an incredible memory — you’re leaving with some of the most incredible keepsakes a Notre Dame football fan could ever wish for. (My game worn helmet is still sitting on the desk in our spare bedroom.)
Our friends at the ND Monogram Club have been updating some great videos to their YouTube page. Looking at the number count, they haven’t broken through with a ton of views yet, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth a look.
Where else can you see Rocket Ismail break down Reggie Brooks beating 330-pound Louis Nix on a slant route or Big Lou catching a fade in the corner of the end zone?
Also great to see are the “Then vs. Now” videos that have sprung up the past week. Get ready to take a trip down memory lane with former Irish greats Grant Irons (somehow wearing sleeves after spending four years in South Bend not wearing any), the still physically imposing Pat Terrell, fullback Marc Edwards, defensive lineman Oliver Gibson and former wideout Omar Jenkins.
Great stuff from an event that looked like a ton of fun.

OMAR JENKINS vs. BENNETT JACKSON
OLIVER GIBSON vs. ZACK MARTIN
MARC EDWARDS vs. CARLO CALABRESE
PAT TERRELL vs. TJ JONES

Upon second viewing, quarterback Everett Golson’s 2014 debut is just as impressive. The senior quarterback, playing his first game in 600 days, didn’t seem to miss a beat, leading Notre Dame with five total touchdowns on the way to a 48-17 victory over Rice.

The last stormy, humid season opener at Notre Dame Stadium found an infamous place in the Irish record books. Saturday afternoon’s 48-17 drubbing of Rice will be remembered in a much better light.

The live blog is back for another season of Notre Dame football. While most of your favorite writers are watching the game and taking notes, I’m here chatting it up with a few thousand of my closest friends. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

That took long enough, didn’t it? After far too long, football is back. With a preseason camp that the Irish survived mostly healthy, the biggest hits came off the field. As an academic investigation claimed its fifth player Thursday, let’s run through the Pregame Six Pack to get you ready for Saturday’s kickoff.
