Does Tommy Rees have a girlfriend and what does she look like? I think he does since he didn’t have any turnovers. No turnovers we have a chance to win.

I also saw a MSU hottie student on beeg I kid you not. Do not send your kids to public institution, ever!

    • bernhtp - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:03 PM

At least no comments on the girlfriend’s turn over, thank God.

      • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:28 PM

Well I’m an ND guy afterall, so I only commented on MSU turnovers. Go check it out. It’s hott!

  2. dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 3:48 PM

Will Tuitt and Nix breakout this game? How’s MSU OL?

  3. don74 - Sep 18, 2013 at 3:55 PM

Of the following what group is most likely to “break out” this week: The coaching staff (BK, CM, BD), the ILB’s, the secondary or the RB’s? OL not mentioned, if the RB’s break out they did their job.

    • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 3:57 PM

Don you’re up awfully early for an alcoholic, I commend you sir!

Anyways, I’m thinking DL, specifically Tuitt. Well I’m hoping anyways I think he’s in the best position to do so.

      • don74 - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:53 PM

You guided me to stop at two. You are a fine example for those seeking the straight and narrow. If I didn’t stop at two the rolodex (do they still have those?) might have got some use and lord knows what would happen next.

      • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 9:20 PM

Hahahahaha. I don’t want you to walk in the same boots that I’ve walked in son. These boots gets dam heavy sometimes know what i mean? got too many miles on them. You just gotta man up n drink coke, not snort it. I’m hell bent on changing inside the irishers lives for the better, one day at a time, one game at a time, one poster at a time.

    • nudeman - Sep 18, 2013 at 4:40 PM

% chances for break out performance

      Coaching Staff: 2%.
3+ years of data says it will be a vanilla offensive game plan and minimal blitzing on D. So we’ll get the same old same old

      ILBs: 2.4%.
Barring a Buck Rogers jet pack being put on the backs of Carlo and Fox, no way.

      Secondary:
15% Maybe by now they’ve seen enough of Farley and Russell and we’ll get more of Luke and Redfield. Maybe. But probably not.

      RBs:
51% Although MSU supposedly has a strong D, I pick the RBs mostly by default. But also because I think we just might see a little less of GAIII and more of the frosh this week.

      • andy44teg - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:06 PM

You’re short 29.6% there, nudie. I’m gonna apply that to Tuitt and Nix. 14.8% each.

      • NotreDan - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:09 PM

Your cynicism is actually admirable Nude.

      • nudeman - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:13 PM

        andy,
Each is rated independent of the others so no need for it to add up to 100.
The most likely outcome is that there are no breakout performances and another ugly win
At this point, I’ll take it

      • andy44teg - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:16 PM

LOL…gotcha. I agree whole heartedly. I am going to disagree with your statement from above about the RB situation, though. I bet we still see the same ole one-play-and-your-done scenario for Bryant and Folston.

      • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:29 PM

        Hahahahaha, I like!

      • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:30 PM

You guys should like totally like go work for Obama and stuff!

      • andy44teg - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:38 PM

dicky doo, not sure I get your reference.

      • don74 - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:59 PM

        nothing adds up???

      • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 9:22 PM

Uhhhhh, I don’t either but yes. You guys are like nerdy perky funny today.

  4. idratherbeinsouthbend - Sep 18, 2013 at 4:25 PM

    Keith,

When we ask “how much wood could a woodchuck chuck?”, why do we postface it with “If a woodchuck could chuck wood?”

Can’t we automatically assume that a woodchuck can chuck would?

  5. idratherbeinsouthbend - Sep 18, 2013 at 4:34 PM

    Keith,

Does looking at a picture of the sun hurt your eyes?

    • papadec - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:17 PM

      Only up here in Seattle.

    • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:31 PM

Are you implying Keith is Chinese Irishman???

      • don74 - Sep 18, 2013 at 10:13 PM

It’s like he walked out of a midtown tavern at 3 PM after sneaking out for an early lunch followed up by a sales call. Wait, that was before cell phones.

  6. blackirish23 - Sep 18, 2013 at 4:45 PM

    Keith,

I agree with Subway Domer in your previous post that our receivers deserve an A grade. However I’m wondering if we’ve even reached our potential yet. I’m still waiting to see guys like Robinson and Chris Brown have break out games as it looks like Daniels and Jones have established themselves as more than capable.

My question is, looking beyond Daniels and Jones, who else do you see as having the potential to create additional match up problems from all these teams daring Rees to beat them with his arm?

Also what’s the story on Prosise? He looked great during camp.

    Thanks and Go Irish!!

    • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:35 PM

Daniel smith too. Still waiting for their breakouts. The only breakouts I see are on their faces.

      • bernhtp - Sep 18, 2013 at 6:16 PM

D Smith doesn’t appear to do much of the catching thing. His presence on the field invariably signals a play – e.g., screen or run – where he needs to block on that side of the field. Judging by opposing defense reactions, I think that others have figured this out too. My guess is that if we threw to him, it would go for a lot since nobody is expecting it.

      • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 9:25 PM

I mean he looks like he’s got some tools but there must be a reason why we don’t utilize him much.

  7. dudeacow - Sep 18, 2013 at 4:50 PM

Tommy Rees would have passed 1000 yards already if not for a few drops. If he plays like he’s been playing for the rest of the season, his stat line will look like this: 4200 yards, 61%, 28-8 td/int. too early to include in an all-America conversation?

    • don74 - Sep 18, 2013 at 10:15 PM

Let’s hold off till after ASU before we cast the bronze.

  8. andy44teg - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:13 PM

Keith (Best Irish Blogger on the Interwebs):
How much stock do you seriously put into MSU having the top ranked D in the country this early in the year? Before last week Alabama had like the 115th ranked offense and we all saw how they spanked TAMU’s D.

    • mtflsmitty - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:44 PM

      Kiss-ass.

    • andy44teg - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:51 PM

dang, was it THAT obvious? i was going for subtle yet sincere.

  9. dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:34 PM

Some of you guys actually are pretty pesky funny today. Did you guys start Zac Efroning or what?

    • don74 - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:55 PM

nah, they went the martini route

      • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 9:27 PM

Andy was there tongue involved or just a semi gay peck? Just What kinda kissass job it? Use the tongue, so much hotter! Just sayin!

  10. mtflsmitty - Sep 18, 2013 at 5:50 PM

    Keith,

Based on your experience reading posts from the characters over the years, please write a short, fictional bio for:
    - Historian
    - Bern
    - Dick
    - Nude

    Thz

    • dickasman - Sep 18, 2013 at 9:29 PM

  12. sm29irish - Sep 18, 2013 at 10:31 PM

    Keith,
I know Prince and Ishaq are ahead of him but do you think Romeo Okwara could be used situationally to put more pressure on qb haven’t seen much of him this year? Also, what happened to the leprecat formation where Slaughter was successful. I think Shumate or Jaylon would really flourish in that position if it was implemented again at times.

  13. sweetnd - Sep 18, 2013 at 11:48 PM

    1) How much longer will Kiffin be coach at U$C?
    2) Why does Zahm suck?
    3) If Tommy throws for 4,000 yards and 28 td’s will he get drafted? If so what round?
    4) what’s your prediction? Will ND cover the spread?

    • blackirish23 - Sep 19, 2013 at 11:02 AM

Please stop hating on Zahm Hall, the greatest dorm on campus. Don’t you find it ironic that most college football fans hate ND just as much as ND students hate Zahm?

What is the typical response when people hate on ND? “ND is a special place and it takes someone who has been there and experienced it to understand, and once you do, you love it.” Well, simply replace ND with Zahm Hall, and the sentiment remains the same.

Don’t you just love the irony???

  14. lambda02750 - Sep 19, 2013 at 10:06 AM

I think that this weekend would be as good a time as any to throw the freshman RB’s in for about 10-15 carries. A game like this one will be smash mouth and we need bigger and sturdier bodies to throw at them…especially if they try to run through the line instead of to the boundary all of the time. Do you anticipate an increase in carries for the freshman backs this weekend?

  15. onward2victory - Sep 19, 2013 at 10:17 AM

Coach Kelly won’t come out and say it, but do you think TJ Jones is healthy? He got banged up against Michigan and didn’t seem like himself against Purdue.

  16. 4horsemenrideagain - Sep 19, 2013 at 11:28 AM

is Michael Deeb’s redshirt a foregone conclusion?

any chance of Jaylon Smith getting snaps at ILB in a position grouping where Ishaq and Councell line up outside?

given the ILB’s struggles, why haven’t we seen kendall moore?

  17. fnc111 - Sep 19, 2013 at 3:19 PM

TR is no All-American. He totally choked against Meatchicken, again.
