Rees for Heisman? Haha just kidding. What happened to Daniels? After a phenomenal start he had a horrendous day vs MSU and was a no-show vs the Sooners. Same thing with Niklas. Where has our receiving corps gone?

    • ndfan33 - Oct 3, 2013 at 11:17 AM

Simple answer: they’ve got no one to throw them the ball coupled with terrible play calling.

    Keith,

Job vacancies at places such as USC always has a domino effect. Any predictions where some of those dominos may fall, and will some of those pieces be from our coaching staff? I.E. Have you started hearing any rumors?

    Thanks.

Keith, with your recent article, including the analysis, of the empty set with Tommy Rees, why is BK continuing to use this formation? Clearly, Golson had/has the tools to extend those plays because of the threat to run or pass. As the head coach and OC, why aren’t he and Martin tossing this out and sticking to what Tommy can do? Combined with a stronger conviction to the running game, wouldn’t that provide the more balanced offense and focus on everyone’s strengths?

  4. ndlv - Oct 3, 2013 at 11:11 AM

Two questions for you Keith, one about the offense, one about the d.

One problem with the offense seems to be the gameplan (or the quick abandonment of it, as was the case last week). With a supposedly good offensive line, talent (or at least potential) at running back, and a quarterback who can be pressured into turnovers, it seems clear that this offense should focus on running the ball followed by play action pass. Instead, the offense seems to always revert back to pass, pass, pass. Is this on Martin and Kelly or is this Rees changing the calls? If it is the latter, then shouldn’t Martin and Kelly put some restrictions on Rees?

On defense, it seems clear that there is a problem in the middle. I know that Jaylon Smith is a little bit small, but he has the talent to play any of the LB positions. Why not move him inside and replace him on the outside with a safety like Shumate or Redfield (as they used to do with Slaughter)? This would get more speed and talent on the field. Grace, Fox, and Carlo may have the size for the middle, but they clearly don’t have the speed.

Pretty good ideas. Something has to be done on D
      It’s ridiculous

  5. ctfivula - Oct 3, 2013 at 12:10 PM

With the Sundevils obvious weakness on defense being the perimeter run game and their strength being pass coverage will we see a ton of runs up the middle by Cam this week in the first half followed by 50 empty back field pass attempts in the second half?

  6. ctfivula - Oct 3, 2013 at 12:31 PM

The most important question is was that nude or dick that posted the picture wiping their butt with the Alabama shirt

Did Brian Kelly give up on the season?

    in response to bk’s snide remark to the infinitely-lovable alex flanagan (“well, alex if you had watched the game…”), did swarbrick address the gaffe by;

    (1) sending bk a text that read:

“dude, ur such an ass. be nice to the sideline eyecandy. so uncool to diss a smokeshow like al, and her bosses are paying us like $200M over the next 13 years so. that’s lotsa zeroes. plus if the beauty queen bails, we could stuck with sheila oliver! rofl-lmfao”

    or

    (2) sent him an email that read:

“brian, i am not mad at you. i’m just disappointed in the poor judgment and the lack of self-control you demonstrated in your comments to ms. flanagan.

    -jack

p.s. let’s sneak over to mckinley tavern this week for some chardonnay and gameplan a better explanation for why the players only sing the alma mater if we win. your response last week needs some polish.

    or

    (3) sent him a fish wrapped in newspaper with a note:

“next time you pop off like that, you see luca brasi…”

    • nudeman - Oct 3, 2013 at 1:29 PM

First Luca Brasi reference here in quite some time
      Works
