My suspicion is that you have some base level of football knowledge. But others here seem to hold you accountable for Tony Dungy or Jon Gruden type of Xs and Os analysis. I think that’s unreasonable. Can you share with us what resources you have available to you (or dont as the case may be) to be able to generate insightful analysis of the technical aspects of the game?

    Sorry so long.

  2. c4evr - Oct 16, 2013 at 4:00 PM

What’s the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? African and European.

  3. nudeman - Oct 16, 2013 at 4:13 PM

What are Momma Arnold’s thoughts on the game? Not just a score, but some of her cognitive analytical insight please.

  4. blackirish23 - Oct 16, 2013 at 4:20 PM

    Keith; Two Questions:

    1. Would you say DaVaris Daniels is more Randy Moss or Ochocinco in his approach to the game? What I mean is, does he take plays off and is thus unprepared when the ball comes his way (like Randy Moss), or does he not have complete grasp of the playbook and ends up on the wrong page with Tommy (like Ochocinco with Tom Brady)?

    2. Do you have any insight into the requirements needed to be part of the new College Football Playoff Committee, because I can’t for the life of me figure out how some of these people are ending up on this committee, and all credibility is lost with the addition of Tyrone Willingham. Please explain.

    Go Irish!!

  5. ndcanuck - Oct 16, 2013 at 4:26 PM

Is USC more or less dangerous Saturday without Lane Kiffin? And can we get “Crazy Train” banned from the PA for this game? Come on Keith – you’ve got some pull, right?

  6. andy44teg - Oct 16, 2013 at 4:43 PM

What would you put the odds at of:
    ND blows out USC
    USC blows out ND
    ND wins a squeaker
    USC wins a squeaker

  7. nudeman - Oct 16, 2013 at 5:04 PM

    Keith or Mrs. A,
Rate 1-10 how well you think the new meds are working for dickasman

    • andy44teg - Oct 16, 2013 at 5:52 PM

THAT’S why we haven’t seen hide nor hair from him lately! I forgot about the AED or whatever the hell he has.

    • papadec - Oct 16, 2013 at 11:04 PM

If dick really is as sick as he says and/or is seriously addressing the issues – I wish him the best in recovering.

  8. seadomer - Oct 16, 2013 at 5:13 PM

Is there a way to cure my ailment as I seem to shout TIMMY ala South Park every time Tommy calls an audible and it gets louder as the play clock winds down

    • c4evr - Oct 16, 2013 at 6:12 PM

      I feel ya bro…

  9. irishdodger - Oct 16, 2013 at 5:25 PM

What strategy do u think Diaco will install to contain Marquise Lee & Nelson Agholor?

    • papadec - Oct 16, 2013 at 11:06 PM

      dodger – besides prayer?

  10. oldestguard - Oct 16, 2013 at 5:46 PM

Whats the risk / reward of protecting Malik Zaire’s redshirt considering the ambiguities of who will be available to QB next year ?

Does Golson have to re-apply ?

When would this re-applicaton process take place ?

  11. charlie617 - Oct 16, 2013 at 7:04 PM

Who would you say is the more dangerous receiver this year (or which would you worry about more if you were a defensive coordinator), TJ Jones or Marqise Lee ? Keep in mind, here are their stats through the first half of the season:

    Lee – 5 games, 30 catches, 385 yards, 12.8 YPC, 1 touchdown
    Jones – 6 games, 33 catches, 481 yards, 14.6 YPC, 4 touchdowns

  12. jerseyshorendfan1 - Oct 16, 2013 at 8:59 PM

Keith, I’m having some folks over to watch the game and I always try to do a food theme that loosely relates to the culture of the area where the opponent is from. For example, if we were playing Miami there would be some Cuban sandwiches and Mojitos. BC would get some lobster, New England clam chowder and Sam Adams. Get it? Problem is, I’m stuck on this weeks game. I’m thinking self serve taco bar, some guac and chips and some ice cold Tecate. Or I thought some nice sushi that I order in with some Sapporos. As a SoCal guy, what would scream La La Land to you?

    • papadec - Oct 16, 2013 at 11:13 PM

joisey – I would go with horse manure, drugs & cheap wine. But, it’s probably for people you care about – so forget that, unless you’re entertaining a usc alum group.

      • jerseyshorendfan1 - Oct 16, 2013 at 11:21 PM

I get everything but the horse manure. What gives?

      • papadec - Oct 17, 2013 at 11:52 PM

joisey – I was trying to keep it somewhat clean – instead of saying bull shit & referencing that damn white beast at the same time, and all the crap that gets spewed about how great sc is/has been.

  13. irishdodger - Oct 16, 2013 at 10:12 PM

Was the news of Stephon Tuitt’s decision to return for his junior year a surprise to you? What do you make about his announcing it so early?

  14. adamj27 - Oct 16, 2013 at 10:20 PM

I read an article on SB Nation detailing the limited amount of success coaches have had at USC over the last forty years. Basically the only successful coaches have been John Robinson I and Pete Carroll. Why do you think coaches have struggled there given all the inherent advantages? And do you think they will make a poor choice this time around (leading to prolonged Irish dominance)?

    • papadec - Oct 16, 2013 at 11:18 PM

j27 – we can hope. I’m sick & tired of hearing the talking heads rag on about how sc has dominated ND this century. We need a long run of our own dominance over sc, to shut them & load up.

  15. getsome99 - Oct 16, 2013 at 11:33 PM

Now that we know Tuitt is not entering the NFL draft, which ND players do you think will get drafted this year? Based upon how they’ve played up to now AND how you project certain Juniors and Seniors will play out the rest of the season.

  16. steincj36 - Oct 17, 2013 at 12:11 AM

With Grace gone, has the 2 deep across the LB changed? Will we see more nickel and dime packages to get more talent on the field?

  17. vicpaul - Oct 17, 2013 at 1:14 AM

Hey Keith, pretty sure I heard that we laid new sod from goal-line to goal-line, What’s the deal with that? I know that’s not the turf BK wants in there but I also know that the grass has looked brutal from game one vs Temple. What were they doing all summer in there?

  18. irishlee10 - Oct 17, 2013 at 2:18 AM

I won’t be able to watch the game on tv. Is there anyway I can stream the game on my iPhone?

    • stedward - Oct 17, 2013 at 1:39 PM

I think you can use the “NBC Sports Live Extra” app to watch for free, although you may need a cable log-in. I know you can watch free online on a computer.

  19. rocket1988 - Oct 17, 2013 at 4:23 AM

@jersey you need to serve Fritos corn chips. Just like Southern Cal’s colors

  20. tburke9601 - Oct 17, 2013 at 6:53 AM

Hey Keith, Is all the doom and gloom gone for the rest of the season if ND wins or are we going to continue to hear about Tommy’s limitations and the bad play calling every week?

  21. yllibnosredna - Oct 17, 2013 at 12:36 PM

I have the feeling that this game could turn into a 2011 redux editon. It seems similar in a lot of ways: Night Game, loads of hype, tons of promising recruits, Tommy Rees at QB, a supposedly inferior (although dangerous and talented) USC squad.

Give three reasons why ND fans should feel that the outcome will be different from 2011 this Saturday night.

  22. stedward - Oct 17, 2013 at 1:35 PM

Of Amir Carlisle, Brian Kelly said, “You can see he’s pretty focused this week. So we’ll be keenly aware of his want to play very well against USC.”

Do you expect more snaps and possibly a big game out of our former USC back this week?
