Brian Kelly, Everett Golson AP

Notre Dame’s training camp schedule is set. With practice kicking off at Culver Military Academy next Monday, the timeline for Notre Dame’s preseason is set.

Brian Kelly will kickoff the season with a press conference this Friday from the Gug at noon. (Check back here for immediate reaction.)

The first week of practice will run Monday-Friday at Culver, each session starting at 11 a.m, before moving back to campus for the remainder of camp. Week two will be at the LaBar Practice Fields, again with practices Monday-Saturday, with Sunday off.

The third week of practice will run Monday to Friday, with Notre Dame’s formal Media Day being held on Tuesday, August 19. We’ll have access to the entire coaching staff on Tuesday, with Under Armour founder Kevin Plank also at the Gug for media availability.

The Irish will have that weekend off before beginning traditional game week practice before Rice visits on August 30 to kick off the season.

      I second that.

WOOHOO we are coming to South Bend from Texas for Rice, Michigan and Stanford games. Can’t wait to see the new pad. One game at a time… GO IRISH.

  4. johngaltisspeaking - Jul 30, 2014 at 10:51 PM

Louisville and ucf would have kicked our ass last year.

Pretty big talk for someone whose team lost to Washington State HAHA. Let’s analyze U$C’s recent recruiting rankings with Washington State, shall we?

      2010 rankings…..U$C #1…..Washington State #91
      2011 rankings…..U$C #4…..Washington State #73
      2012 rankings…..U$C #8…..Washington State #56
      2013 rankings…..U$C #13…Washington State #53

In John’s mind, why even play the game? U$C has all the blue chip recruits! Yet Washington State wins the game! I’m shocked!

As the father of a WSU alum – I’m not!!!!!!! We suffered through some horrible seasons – but didn’t let it dampen our party spirit. Beating usc is almost as gratifying as beating U Wash in the Apple Cup. 6-7 in 2013, could be a winning season this year. usc @ WSU on 11/1.

Mophead just wait and see. USC will be throttling notre Dame if they continue to have top ten classes and Brian k keeps signing 3 star players. It can’t be done at this level.

  6. irishmob89 - Jul 31, 2014 at 12:32 AM

Just like the past few years? U$C had recruiting classes ranked #1, #4, #8, and #13 yet has only scored a combined 23 points on the Irish the past two seasons. Too bad U$C doesn’t have the coaching staff to coach these elite recruits you get. Lane Kiffin was pathetic and Seven Win Steve Sarkisian will be will be fired within 3 or 4 years. The state of U$C football is on a downward spiral. I would abandon ship if I were you and root for Alabama full time. At least Saban knows how to coach his talent.

    • johngaltisspeaking - Jul 31, 2014 at 10:16 AM

The only reason ND beat USC was because of loss of scholarships. USC has 0 depth and yes the coaching wasn’t all that great. But having said that I still didn’t see ND whip USC even once. The games were so close even on sanctions. Now I hope this doesn’t keep you up at night but now that USC is able to start rebuilding depth with 5 star playmakers the tide is about to turn on Brian K. Sark is easily as good as Brian K. The 22 – 13 Win during our special over inflated season would have been much different with Barkley playing. I think ND fans owe Barr a big kiss over at UCLA.

      • irishmob89 - Jul 31, 2014 at 2:20 PM

Excuses, excuses, and more excuses from John…No Barkley? Guess what, Notre Dame was playing with a redshirt freshman at quarterback that night! It isn’t Notre Dame’s fault your pretty boy 5-star quarterback can’t take a hit. Hard to believe that your invincible 5-star players can get injured HAHA…And that game wasn’t as nearly as close as the score indicated. Notre Dame physically and mentally dominated U$C all game long. Notre Dame should have scored in the upper 30’s or even low 40s that game, but they had to keep settling for field goals. If Barkley played, the outcome wouldn’t have been any different. Notre Dame was clearly the better team. Get over it.

This schedule is very helpful. I always have a problem remembering what comes between Day 4 and Day 6.

  8. getsome99 - Jul 31, 2014 at 3:25 PM

Sark is easily as good as Brian Kelly? Based on what? Certainly not W-L’s. The PAC12 is not that good to begin with and USC is middle of the pack right now. And how many fans came to watch USC last year? You couldn’t give the tickets away.

You made my point about 0 depth, transfers, and suspensions. You can sign all the 5 star players you want but if they never see the field, who cares? The glory days won’t return under Sarkisian. You said the same thing when they hired Kiffin. Maybe the next coach.
