Kelly's staff is complete

A few hours after Brian Kelly named Paul Longo as head of his strength
and conditioning, he named the final three members of his coaching
staff: Kerry Cooks, Tim Hinton, and Ed Warinner.

Cooks joins the Irish from Wisconsin where he coached defensive backs
for the Badgers. He was an All-Big Ten safety at Iowa and was drafted
by the Minnesota Vikings in the 5th round. He’ll coach outside
linebackers for the Irish.

Hinton has spent the last 15 years coaching college football, the last
six at Cincinnati, where he spent five of those seasons as the
Bearcats’ running backs coach. Hinton will stay with running backs, a
change from the earlier announcement of Tony Alford who was retained by
Kelly.

Warinner comes to the Irish from Kansas where he was the offensive
coordinator. He’s spent 13 of the last 18 seasons coaching the
offensive line and did so at Army, Air Force, Kansas and Illinois.
He’ll be in charge of the offensive line for the Irish, and is a rare
coach that Kelly didn’t have a personal connection to before the
interview process.

The final coaching staff is as follows:

Brian Kelly – Head Coach
Charley Molnar – Offensive Coordinator
Bob Diaco – Defensive Coordinator and Inside linebackers
Ed Warinner – Offensive line coach
Tony Alford – Wide receivers coach
Tim Hinton – Running backs coach
Mike Elston – Defensive line coach
Kerry Cooks – Outside linebackers
Chuck Martin – Defensive backs coach
Paul Longo – Strength and conditioning

Kelly hasn’t named his special teams coordinator or head of recruiting
yet, but its assumed that Elston will coordinate the special teams and
either Hinton or Alford could coordinate recruiting with football
administrator Dave Peloquin taking a larger role.
